Our commitment to diversity is demonstrated through strategic initiatives aimed at providing training and awareness to employees, hiring people of diverse backgrounds at all levels in the organization and establishing guidelines for increasing dollars spent with minority suppliers.

Diversity is not only Diversity of ethnic backgroud and gender, but also age, sexual orientation and work and life experience.

Diversity and Inclusion Policy

    Diversity Events
    Park Inn celebrates Multicultural Events featuring educational displays, festive music and authentic cuisine.  The key message of the event "How we value difference matters."

    Park Inn appreciates and celebrates each individual's uniqueness, talents, skills, background and experiences. Carlson Hotels Worldwide - is a sponsor of the Multicultural Development Center Calendar of Events titled, Sharing DiversityTM; highlighting cultural events recognized around the world.

    Park Inn's Multicultural Committee has been established to help cultivate a culture of inclusion by extending the work of the committee to the entire business. The committee achieves this through education, awareenss and through quarterly events.

    The Multicultural Committee mission is: As open and teachable thought leaders, we will be the catalyst to guide Carlson Hotels in enabling a safe, rich, innovative environment that promotes understanding and the benefits of diversity. We strive to celebrate and value differences and similarities.

    Diversity Initiatives
    Sed de Saber ESL Test
    At our hotels, Park Inn is currently testing Sed de Saber, a comprehensive English-as-a-second language program created by LeapFrog Enterprises for adult learners.

    Short Stature Accessibility Kits 
    Participating Park Inn's are testing in-room accessibility kits, helping guests with dwarfism and other physical limitations experience a safer stay. The kits - which are now available at owned and managed Park Inn, Radisson Hotels & Resorts and Park Plaza Hotels & Resorts in the Americas - include a stepstool, a reaching tool, a bar to lower the clothes rack in closets, and a device to retrofit the latch-hook lock on the door.

    Brand Standards
    Diversity and inclusion are integrated into Park Inn's operating procedures. Park Inn values diversity in its workplaces, its business relationships and in the people and communities it serves. Hotels are encouraged to participate in activities which support a variety of cultural, casual, ethnic and gender-based interests and events.

    Our Suppler Diversity program plays a critical role in helping Park Inn and our partners achieve diversity goals relating to building and developing supplier relationships; and serves as a catalyst for new ideas and process improvement. Park Inn aligns itself with supplier partners that philosophically embrace diversity and see it as a strategic imperative.  Park Inn is committed to increasing spend with minority and women owned businesses.     Training
    Diversity training is conducted for all employees providing a forum for dialogue around the basic elements of diversity and inclusion. The training gives employees the tools to understand their role and to use a filter of inclusion in their everyday work. Training is an ongoing process.
